Alexander
Benton brings experience in party organization, having built the Greenbrier County GOP from the ground up and served as Chairman since 2019. He has unmatched fundraising experience, building one of the state’s largest war chests for a county party. As Chairman, he oversaw Greenbrier County becoming a majority-Republican County after decades of being a majority-Democratic county, and the unseating of all countywide elected Democrats, including defeating the sitting Senate minority leader by over 20 points.
Additionally, Benton serves as the Chair of the County Chairs for the West Virginia Republican Party. Elected to the position by his 50-plus fellow county chairs, he helps train new county chairs, promote effective voter outreach strategies, and plans an annual county chairs retreat. In 2026, Benton was reelected to another term in this position.
Cole has served at the highest levels of Republican politics in West Virginia, serving as Executive Director of the Republican Legislative Committee for West Virginia House Speaker Roger Hanshaw. In this role, Cole has directed social media for West Virginia House Republicans, dramatically expanding their following and effectively sharing their talking points. He has planned numerous successful fundraisers for House members, raising thousands of dollars for delegates.
In addition, Cole was tapped by the West Virginia Republican Party to serve on their Victory Fund for the 2026 general elections, assisting incumbent delegates and senators in northern West Virginia.
Alexander brings experience in West Virginia, Virginia, and Washington, DC.
He worked for the United States House Committee on Ways and Means during the Passage of the One Big Beautiful Bill, along with stints with Senator Shelley Moore Capito and Congressman Riley Moore. He served as a legal intern for Attorney General JB McCuskey, assisting on cases including a Supreme Court brief.
He also served as the Chairman of the College Republican Federation of Virginia and as a member of the State Central Committee of the Virginia Republican Party.
Additionally, he served as editor-in-chief of The Washington and Lee Spectator, giving him in-depth knowledge of journalism and op-ed writing.
